How we work
Editorial and ranking methodology
Each clinic is scored by a public formula combining verified reviews, treatment range, CNPMA registration, price transparency and response time. The same formula runs for every clinic, regardless of any commercial relationship.

Ranking formula
Verified reviews (35%)
Google review average and volume, time-weighted toward the last 12 months.
Clinical range (20%)
Number of techniques offered, with bonus for in-house donation programmes and PGT-A lab.
CNPMA registration (15%)
Active licence with no suspensions in the last 24 months.
Price transparency (15%)
Declared and dated price ranges; opacity penalises.
Response time (10%)
Median time to respond to quote requests via the form.
Quality signals (5%)
ESHRE/SART accreditation, publications and national-registry participation.
Verifying success rates
We only use rates from the annual CNPMA national report and ESHRE/SART benchmarks, standardised as live birth per cycle started. We never publish self-reported clinic numbers without independent documentation.
Clinical content
Authorship
Health journalists with documented PMA reporting.
Medical review
Each clinical article is reviewed by a specialist registered with the Medical Board.
Citations
Peer-reviewed literature, CNPMA, DGS, NHS Portugal and ESHRE — visible at the article footer.
Refresh
Re-evaluated every 12 months or immediately when evidence or regulation changes.
When we remove clinics
We suspend listings when the CNPMA licence lapses, when a clinic stops responding to verification, or when verified patient complaints exceed safety thresholds. Removals are logged on /en/corrections.

Frequently asked questions
How are clinics ranked?
+
By a transparent score combining Google review average, review count, treatment range, CNPMA registration status, response time and price-band transparency.
Can clinics influence their ranking?
+
No. The ranking formula is published and runs identically for every clinic. Sponsored placements are labelled separately and do not affect the score.
How often is the ranking refreshed?
+
Monthly. Each clinic's verification timestamp is shown on its profile.
Where do success-rate numbers come from?
+
Public CNPMA national reports and ESHRE/SART benchmarks. We never quote clinic-supplied success rates without independent verification.
Do you remove clinics?
+
Yes — when the CNPMA licence lapses, when the clinic stops responding to verification, or when patient complaints exceed thresholds.
Can I see the raw data?
+
Aggregate data is available on /resources. Patient-level data is never published.
